5 Clean Beauty Myths Debunked

'Natural' doesn't always mean safe, and 'chemical-free' is literally impossible. We separate fact from marketing.

Myth 1: 'Natural' means safe. Arsenic is natural. Lead is natural. Poison ivy is natural. Natural origin doesn't determine safety — dose and context do.

Myth 2: 'Chemical-free' products exist. Everything is a chemical. Water is H2O. Air is a mix of gases. 'Chemical-free' is a marketing term with no scientific meaning.

Myth 3: Organic cosmetics are safer. The FDA explicitly states that organic source does not determine cosmetic safety. An organic ingredient can be just as irritating as a synthetic one.

Myth 4: Preservatives are bad. Without preservatives, your skincare would grow mold and bacteria within days. The right preservative system keeps products safe to use.

Myth 5: If you can't pronounce it, it's bad. Ascorbic acid is vitamin C. Tocopherol is vitamin E. Sodium chloride is salt. Difficult names don't indicate danger.
